Activated carbon filters
An activated carbon filter only has a limited lifespan or period of functionality when used in an exhaust hood operated in recirculation mode. Inside the filter cartridge, there is porous, fine-grained carbon with a large internal surface area which is used, among other things, in ventilation and air conditioning technologies. After a long period of use, the pores in the activated carbon close more and more due to the constant filtering of cooking vapours, such that the performance of the filter degrades and the filter has to be replaced.
You should take care that your activated carbon filter is replaced after no more than 120 hours of operation or 6 months. If your hood has a filter saturation indicator, you will be prompted via a visual signal to replace the activated carbon filter after 120 hours of operation. In case of extremely heavy use of your hood, it may be necessary to replace the filter sooner!
- Be sure to read the instructions for installation and use enclosed with your hood carefully!
- Please be sure only to use our “Original Airforce Activated Carbon Filters”!
